Miriam Salat
Miriam Salat designs jewelry for the adventurous “gypset”: a gypsy-jetsetter whose personal style is equal parts glamour and exoticism. A former airport and highway designer for the city of New York, Salat created her first jewelry collection in 1993 and found an instant hit on her hands, but didn’t launch her own eponymous collection until 2010. In the meantime, she founded the contemporary womenswear label Bochic and attracted a celebrity following with her Old World-inspired clothing designs. Miriam Salat jewelry features lots of chunky and colorful cuff bracelets, rings and earrings crafted from wood or polished resin, 18-karat gold vermeil, glass and cubic zirconia. Collections like "Ocean, Emerald & Navy" and "Water for People" (a charity series) feature brightly colored resin nuggets outlined in silvertone or embellished with glittering crosses, flowers and other shapes. Miriam Salat jewelry has appeared in Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and O, the magazine founded by Oprah, among other publications.
