Fifteen years ago, American-born designer Catherine Monteiro de Barros was living with her Portuguese husband in Lisbon and their two small daughters when she realized that stateside mothers would enjoy elegant, European-style clothing for their kids just as much as she did. With that, Papo d'Anjo was born. At first little more than a trunk show for prospective clients interested in the line's well-sourced fabrics and understated elegance, the brand is now sold in its flagship store in Lisbon as well as boutiques and department stores in Europe and beyond.
