The Reformed Vintage Carpet has a contemporary flare and is hand-stitched from remnants of 20th century vintage and antique Turkish carpets. It is first stripped of color by a bleaching process and then re-dyed using natural colors. The original motifs in the carpet's design have been preserved under the newly recharged color. The unknown colors and texture that emerge are unique to each carpet, depending on the type of wool initially used. Spot clean with a mild detergent.
Brand: Patrick Charles LTD
Material: Wool
Origin: Imported
Founded in 1978 by Patrick Charles, this company’s original focus was handwoven flat weaves from Mexico. Eventually, Charles began covering chairs and other furniture with these textiles, as well as with vintage fabrics from Turkey. All are distinguished by hand-knotting or handweaving detail and high quality vegetable-based dyes. In 2006, Charles started commissioning master craftsmen to use remnants of unused Turkish kilim fabric to create intricate patchwork carpets in innovative overdyed finishes.
