Born in Seoul and adopted by a French family, designer Raphael Young learned his trade from his uncle, a respected bottier, and created his first pair of shoes at age 14. After working as an assistant at Yves Saint Laurent, Young started his own brand in 2007, quickly earning a reputation for his sculptural creations, which have been worn by the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga. Young's flagship store opened in Paris in 2010, and continues to dispense ultra-modern, high-fashion heels and wedges made with traditional artisanal techniques.
