Like so many great baby brands, Robeez got its start when a creative, entrepreneurial mom turned her ingenious design concept into a reality. After being downsized from her job in the 1990s, Robeez founder Sandra Wilson made a pair of soft-soled baby shoes for her 18-month-old son. Wilson soon realized that her handcrafted leather slip-ons helped her little guy to feel the floor with his feet as he learned to walk, which greatly improved his balance. By 1994, she was designing and selling shoes under the Robeez label from her home in Vancouver, Canada. An instant hit among parents and baby shower gift givers, Robeez delivered on its promise to create "moments you can delight in" — adding booties, skid-resistant Mini Shoez, sandals, and other children’s footwear to its line. Now a unit of the Stride Rite Children's Group, Robeez has expanded into baby and toddler clothing — designing infant layettes and coveralls emblazoned with owls, foxes and other cute creatures.
