Described by the New York Times as “the Italian fashion designer with a gypsy soul,” Roberto Cavalli has forever transformed the fashion industry through his use of flashy, high-end animal prints, printed lightweight leather, and luxurious sandblasted denim. Launched in 2002, Cavalli’s perfume collection captures all the vigor and free-spiritedness of his leopard- and zebra-skin clothing line, with scents ranging from woody and earthy (Man) and spicy (Just Cavalli’s I Love Him) to fruity (Serpentine, Roberto Cavalli Eau de Parfum) and floral (Just Cavalli’s I Love Her). Ingredients range from sandalwood and peppercorn to mango, violet leaves, and vanilla. Since debuting his first collection in 1970, Cavalli has built an empire that includes Just Cavalli and his flagship label as well as Class Roberto Cavalli (casual clothing), Angels & Devils (kids’ clothing), perfume, and several eclectic side projects (a café, a nightclub, even a vodka).
