Description
Designer

The Oria Flower rug is hand-knotted from 100% wool and silk. Pile height measures 1/4 of an inch. Designer Suzanne Kasler named this rug for the founder of the Elephant Watch Camp in Kenya, a world-renowned destination for luxury accommodations and amazing up-close wildlife. The fabric for a shirt purchased by both Kasler and her daughter inspired Oria, which is hand-knotted of silk and wool in Nepal to recreate the cloth's saturated hues and geometric shapes. "The amazing contrast of the African landscape-the sky, the neutrals of the earth and the vegetation are all seen in my rug for Safavieh," Kasler says.

Suzanne Kasler is a high-end residential interior designer whose work exudes timeless quality and comfortable sophistication. Kasler's flair for blending art with antiques, contemporary pieces, and custom-designed furniture places her among the elite of America's top interior designers. She was named one of House and Garden's "50 Tastemakers of 2006" and "one of the top 100 designers" by House Beautiful. Classic elegance is a signature of the Suzanne Kasler Collection for Safavieh Couture.

Due to the hand-crafted nature of Safavieh Couture's rugs, please expect slight variations in size and color. Spot clean rug with mild detergent.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. That’s the case with Safavieh, whose handmade rugs combine centuries-old techniques and modern design. Founded in Persia in 1914, the family-run company draws from three generations of experience in the field. Its carpets range from antique reproductions to contemporary styles offered in varieties including hooked, tufted, flat weave, Gabeh (thick pile weave) and hand-knotted.
