About Saurette

Living up to its style mantra of “fashionable clothing for kids with unique style,” Saurette takes adorable to a whole new level with its whimsical prints and big-girl looks. Contemporary with a vintage touch (picture a pint-sized Zooey Deschanel), the label’s aesthetic resembles an Anthropologie shoot for the toddler set: edgy print dresses, patterned knit leggings and caps, slouchy tops, knee-high strappy boots and owl-print T-shirts. The young line was launched in spring 2009 by stylist Lisa Kanouse, who was inspired by her 18 years in the fashion business and her frustration at finding modern pieces for her own young children.

Saurette Girls' Apparel - 8/12/2010

It’s big-girl style for little ladies: Saurette’s mantra is “fashionable clothing for kids with unique style” — and designer Lisa Kanouse has certainly lived up to it since the launch of the line last year. Inspired by her desire to dress her own young children in modern duds, her designs get equal parts edge and endearing. Floral and polka-dot dresses get a hip update with mesh trim, and the bubble skirt is chic in solid green or a garden print. Even this casualwear is cool, from graphic-print sweaters to comfy paperbag shorts in white or berry.
