A former model, Brazilian-born designer Sheila Fajl established her artisan-made jewelry collection in 2004 and soon attracted a Hollywood following that includes Eva Mendes, Kate Hudson, and Selma Hayek. Fajl’s uncluttered baubles don't need a red carpet to achieve maximum impact, however. Handmade from dyed leather, gold vermeil, “rusted” metal, and semiprecious stones such as chalcedony and green onyx, Fajl's standouts include delicate stackable rings, golden swirl cuff bracelets, shoulder-grazing chandelier earrings, and statement necklaces.
