Behind the quirky-but-classic looks of Shipley & Halmos is the design duo Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos: former college pals who, having gained industry recognition for their casual contemporary line Trovata, debuted their self-titled collection in 2008. Celebrated for its laid-back, preppy aesthetic, Shipley & Halmos blends modernism and traditionalism to create clothing that's as charming as it is wearable. The men's Ralphie team jacket, an updated version of the classic varsity jacket, features buttery leather sleeves and front pocket trim; for the ladies, the linen-and-cotton Catalina tank top offers elegant draping and a feminine silhouette. Shipley & Halmos' sharp clothing, boots and shoes, sunglasses, and other accessories have snagged them honors such as the National Arts Club’s Young Designer Award and a nomination for the GQ/CFDA Best New Menswear Designer in America award.
