With the birth of her son in 2008, toy industry veteran Tamfre Stuphen shifted gears, focusing on making natural, bamboo grass blankets — free of chemically treated yarns or synthetic microfibers — that would be gentle on her baby’s sensitive skin. A luxury textile label soon took shape. Each silky, antibacterial blanket in the Shi Shu range is handcrafted in India and comes in several kid-friendly pastel hues. Demand from Stuphen’s grown-up clientele has also inspired a line of throws edged with lush tassels in deep, earthy tones.
