Nick Brown founded Soludos — a combination of the Spanish words “salud” (cheers) and “sol” (sun) — in 2010 after realizing there were no good Stateside options for traditional jute-soled espadrilles like the ones he wore as a kid on vacation in Spain. A kind of summer ambassador, Brown first gave the shoes to family and friends (many of whom were among the Soho fashion crowd) and they soon spread to lovers of a laid-back lifestyle all around the world. The Mediterranean-inspired shoes include 100% cotton uppers, eco-friendly and breathable jute soles, and a thin layer of rubber on the bottom. Slip them on and you’ll be carrying a bit of summer with you, no matter what season it actually happens to be.
