Spiewak
Way back in the autumn of 1904, a business was being born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. With the New York waterfront booming, dockworkers needed something to keep warm. And Isaac Spiewak was happy to oblige, producing handmade sheepskin vests that he sold on the streets of the city. More than a century later, that workingman’s start has translated into a company that stands as one of the top names in uniform workwear today. I. Spiewak & Sons apparel has been worn everywhere from the fields of WWI and WWII to the backs of firefighters, police, and EMS workers the world over. Of course, that kind of integrity and authenticity plays just as well in the civilian world, which is why droves of streetwear aficionados, stylish urbanites, and forward-thinking boutiques have adopted Spiewak’s stylish, functional apparel as their own. One hundred and seven years old, and still keeping folks on their toes. Not bad for an old-timer.
