Though Stella McCartney has a famous last name, the designer's talent has made her a first name in fashion. While still in her teens, McCartney's advanced design skills won her posts at Christian Lacroix, on London’s famous Savile Row, at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College, and, in 1997, just two years out of school, as Karl Lagerfeld's replacement at Chloe. A strict vegetarian who abstains from the use of fur and leather, McCartney combines razor-sharp tailoring with feminine detail and function. Her original approach has garnered her a VH1/Vogue Designer of the Year Award, collaborations with Adidas and H&M, and personal commissions from Madonna.
