An American institution for more than a century, Stride Rite was the first baby shoe brand to receive the American Podiatric Medical Association’s Seal of Acceptance. Founded in 1892 by entrepreneurs Jacob A. Slosberg and Philip Green, this Massachusetts-based footwear label for kids was originally known as the Green Shoe Manufacturing Company; it purchased the name Stride Rite in 1933.
