The most fruitful fashion collaborations often emerge when two friends realize that they share the same vision. That's certainly true for Tbags Los Angeles creators Shadi Askari and Su-Lyn Tay, who met in graduate school and discovered that they both loved contemporary fashion infused with a retro spirit. In 2001, they launched Tbags Los Angeles with a line of luxury handbags constructed from recycled vintage fabrics and suede, then expanded into ready-to-wear clothing. The chic looks in their repertoire include flirty jumpers, orange tunics, dresses with gathered or cinched waists, and open-sleeve sheaths. Vibrant prints, glittering jeweled necklines, and other brilliant accents give each Tbags Los Angeles design a one-of-a-kind appeal. In recent years Tbags Los Angeles has added the maternity collection F.E.M. ("fabulous expectant mother") and the plus-size collection Fashionista.
