That's certainly true for Tbags Los Angeles creators Shadi Askari and Su-Lyn Tay, who met in graduate school and discovered that they both loved contemporary fashion infused with a retro spirit. In 2001, they launched Tbags Los Angeles with a line of luxury handbags constructed from recycled vintage fabrics and suede, then expanded into ready-to-wear clothing.
