Tegu
The Tegu story didn't start with an idea for a new toy for kids — it started in 2006 with two brothers, Chris and Will Haughey, and their shared desire to help people struggling in the crumbling economy of Honduras. The two soon discovered that it was home to beautiful, sustainably-harvested tropical hardwoods — a draw for the grandchildren of an accomplished architect. When they came upon the classic wooden toys of Europe during a trip to Germany, the pieces came together — and they formed Tegu, the brand now renowned for its magnetic wooden block sets. Loved by kids, parents, and parenting blogs alike, the blocks are made from eco-friendly hardwoods and they're built to last — so hand-me-downs retain their just-out-of-the-box appeal.
