Temple St. Clair Carr founded her self-named line of jewelry, Temple St. Clair, in 1986 while living in Florence, Italy. With an innate eye for color and distinctive precious metals, Carr travels the globe in search of the most uncommon and perfect gemstones and sets them in 18K gold. Barneys New York discovered Temple St. Clair Carr's work in Italy and invited her to showcase her first collection exclusively in New York City. From there, her collections expanded to luxury retailers and soon became collectibles for in-the-know clientele across the country. Today, Temple St. Clair jewelry is based in New York City and is sold at over 100 retailers in the United States and oversees. From signature rock crystal amulets to one of a kind cocktail rings, all pieces in Temple St. Clair’s collections reflect their wide and varying influences, from colors in Mannerist paintings to architectural elements in Venetian churches or Kyoto temples. Carr contends, “I believe jewelry should have a story to it… cultural roots” and her designs support this philosophy. Featured in recent issues of Bazaar , Vogue and Town & Country , this unique and exquisite line is a welcome addition to Gilt Groupe.
