THRO by Marlo Lorenz
Thro by Marlo Lorenz is a beguiling collection of blankets, pillows, dog beds and, of course, throws. Founder and chief designer Marlo Lorenz set up THRO in 1999 to channel her fascination with opulent materials and scintillating color into lavish adornments for the home, concentrating her training from Manhattan’s Fashion Institute of Technology into fashion-forward home accessories. You’ll be amazed at the difference a textured Mongolian fur pillow or vibrant patterned pop of a chevron microplush throw can make!

Gifts for the Artsy Mom
Any mom can empathize with Melissa Keswin’s wish for “an extra set of hands” as a Mother’s Day gift, but most moms wouldn’t put them to use quite as creatively as the Gilt Director of Merchandising for Baby & Kids. For her and her four-year-old daughter, Esmae, teaming up on craft projects is not just a ton of fun, but a method of family bonding. “Our latest project was painting her little brother’s room,” Melissa says, of prepping her soon-to-arrive second child’s nursery. “She helped pick out the color, and we did the walls in blue and white stripes. Both times I’ve been pregnant, I’ve had this obsession with doing DIY things!”
