Tucker for Target is one of the many successful designer collaborations pursued by Target, the department store chain. Tucker started with one blouse and no name. In 2005, fashion designer Gaby Basora made herself (and, before long, 50 of her friends) a button-down blouse with three-quarter-length sleeves and a shirred neckline. Within months, she'd received her first major department-store order, at which point she had to come up with a brand name. The word Tucker came to her one night in a dream, and the addition of more than a dozen other pieces to her lookbook — including a dress collection, blazers, and even lingerie — has been almost as effortless. But it’s the “part poet/part Ukrainian folk dancer” aesthetic of Tucker’s blouses which have won over the likes of Drew Barrymore, Whitney Port and Cameron Diaz.
