About Twinkle by Wenlan

Twinkle by Wenlan does just as its name suggests — it puts a little twinkle in your eye. Launched in 1999 by designer Wenlan Chia, the line has become known for its special blend of whimsy and sophistication. After starting with chunky knits, Chia, a native of Taiwan, has expanded her repertoire to include sweetly printed dresses and separates (she draws all her patterns herself), as well as a jewelry collection and a home line. Whatever she designs, Chia brings an unabashed enthusiasm to every piece. And fashionistas thank their lucky stars for that.

Heat Wave: Miami Heat - 10/5/2010

While perfect for the tropics, this sexy, summery assortment would feel right at home in plenty of other hip locales. Striking colors and eye-popping prints give many of these mini sheaths, rompers and tees their red-hot appeal. In other cases, it’s all about the draping, as seen in dolman-sleeve poncho dresses, swingy studded halter-tops and silky jumpsuits with wide legs and blouson bodices.

Twinkle by Wenlan - 11/17/2010

Modern and full of attitude, this hip collection really shines with its off-center pieces, boasting unusually placed seams. We’re particular fans of the slanted-zipper dresses and drapy, tie-neck top with a split, gathered hem. Another winner is the graphic floral skirt boasting origami-like slash pockets.
