Vince Camuto Shoes
Nine West co-founder Vince Camuto has based his life's work upon perfecting women's shoes and boots. After starting seven unique collections for Dillard's department stores and acquiring the footwear licenses for BCBG Max Azria and BCBGirls, Camuto finally launched his own eponymous footwear line in 2005. Texture and metal hardware feature prominently in Camuto's collections — from antique leather “bilco” boots and strippy-strappy sandals to his elegantly sexy Trish pumps (two-toned, peep-toe Mary Janes accented with perforated detailing). In recent years Cavuto has branched out into designing women's ready-to-wear clothing, perfume, watches, and handbags as well as VC Signatures, a conservative-leaning, high-end line of footwear and accessories. He's too busy to create wildly successful collaborations with other brands and designers, however: In addition to owning all the licenses for Jessica Simpson's shoe label, he's partnered with Lucky Brand, Banana Republic, and Tory Burch (helping to create its ubiquitous “Reva” ballet flat).
