Natural wood handmade wayfarer sunglasses
Brand: Waiting for the Sun
The French eyewear label Waiting for the Sun crafts all of its sunglasses from natural tea wood and bamboo to reduce the ecological impact of its product line. Remarkably light, Waiting for the Sun’s shades include oversized models inspired by the bold acetate shades of the 1980s, classic Wayfarers, rounded styles pulled from the shorelines of the 1960s, and rectangular styles that resemble Aviators (minus the metal wire shine, natch). Each pair is carefully crafted by hand — and guaranteed to keep you looking stylish for many summers to come. Based in Paris, Waiting for the Sun founders Julien Tual, Alexandre Rabineau and Antoine Mocquard came up with the idea for wooden sunglasses at a party and then spent the next three years figuring out how to transform their ingenious accessories into reality. We — and the planet —are glad they did.
