Named after the Celtic goddess of wisdom and healing, Weleda creates personal care products rooted in the philosophy of anthroposophy: a belief system based on the teachings of Dr. Rudolph Steiner that encourages people to regard their bodies, minds and spirits as intrinsically linked to the planet and its well-being. Founded in 1921, Weleda grows the flowers and plants it uses to make its organic deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste and other goods. All of Weleda’s products — from its sunflower seed oil-enriched Skin Food for dry skin to its calendula-infused baby creams and washes — are chemical and preservative-free.
