The designing duo behind What Goes Around Comes Around vintage fashion knows perhaps better than anyone that everything old becomes new again. After meeting in college, WGACA founders Gerard Maione and Seth Weisser graduated and became collectors — began traveling the world and amassing an impressive archive of antique clothing, jewelry, sunglasses and handbags by the likes of Chanel and Pucci. In time Maione and Weisser launched their own line of vintage-inspired clothing, which reflects the duo’s scholarly knowledge of garments and respect for authenticity. What Goes Around Comes Around’s aesthetic draws on influences from the 1880s to the 1980s, with a distinct rock 'n' roll edge. An industry secret no more, WGACA has outfitted everyone from Kanye West (spotted wearing the label’s vintage military jacket) to Nicole Kidman in its fabulous threads.
Amazing vintage finds scouted by the experts at WGACA include Yves Saint Laurent dresses that look as right-now as the day they first walked the runway. Also up for grabs is a prized Dior gown guaranteed to star at any fete, and '60s Givenchy and '70s Gucci pieces that can mingle skillfully with any 2010 wardrobe. Don’t miss the rare fashion gems by Biba, Courrèges, Pucci, Alaia and Chanel, either.
Somewhere between the sexy mini and flowing maxi is a sweet-spot hemline that shows off just the right dose of leg. Enter the midi, the demurely feminine length that’s ideal for the transitioning seasons. This elegant crop features ultra-flattering silhouettes and patterns and colors that pop, including cobalt blue fit-and-flares, floral-embossed numbers, palm-print silk sheaths, and embroidered lace skirts.
