Financial Accountant

Reporting to the GL & Statutory Reporting Manager you will have responsibility for ensuring the accounting and reporting of selected GL and related modules are completed in compliance with US GAAP for internal management reporting and with local GAAP for external and statutory reporting this includes responsibility for ensuring all financial activities and transaction processes are operating effectively and ensuring compliance with internal SOX processes and with local country requirements. It requires good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills and advanced accounting qualifications.

 

Job Responsibilities GL and generally for FA & Banking:

  • Supporting the management of the Trial Balance and maintaining Balance Sheet reconciliations and internal monthly reporting on a timely basis
  • Compliance with Internal Control requirements and ensuring all assigned process are SOX compliant
  • Managing related Oracle process and supporting the roll-out of Oracle implementations and upgrades
  • Supporting the business and business initiatives as appropriate
  • Assisting GL Statutory Reporting Manager / EMEA Finance Manager with various relevant information requirements / projects
  • Prepare audit schedules and resolve audit issues identified by external auditors

 

Job Responsibilities Banking:

  • Responsible and accountable for Treasury & Banking/ Cash administration processes for entities
  • Responsible for Bank Mandates, Documentation and Administration
  • Responsible for operational cashflow, forecasting and treasury requests
  • Responsible for payments/transfers as provided by various departments
  • Preparation of the Bank Monthly accounts and Bank Reconciliations for “Ireland” entities

 

Job Responsibilities Fixed Assets:

  • Responsible and accountable for the Fixed Asset accounting process for “Ireland” entities
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
  • Responsible for the month end Fixed Asset closing
  • Liaising and dealing with Finance groups across the business, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, FP&A & GL
  • Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledgers to the GL monthly and resolving any discrepancies
  • Initiate research, identify the business or operational issues that affect the company’s fixed assets, as well as recommend ways of improving the existing system and processes
  • Prepare supporting tax schedules for the company’s capital expenditure
  • Assistance with other ad hoc tasks and participation in new projects and initiatives as required

 

Qualifications:

  • 3rd level relevant Accounting, Finance / Business degree
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant pursuing a formal qualification desirable
  • Computer literacy ; Oracle , MS Products, E-Mail
  • Broad experience in dealing with multiple legal entities in a Group environment
  • Knowledge of local, US GAAP, Internal Control processes, SOX, Corporate Governance
  • 3+ years experience preferably with a Multinational Company or a Big 10 accounting firm background
  • Be a self-starter and able to act on own initiative
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to be detail oriented
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, working under pressure and to meet strict reporting deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written, presentational);
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills
  • Project Management skills and experience desirable
  • Demonstrates team work and collaborate approach to work
