Kathy Leo is a Strategic Advisor to Gilt, holding this role since Hudson's Bay Company acquired Gilt in February 2016. Previously, Leo was Chief Legal & People Officer at Gilt, where she was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's legal, human resources, and facilities functions. With over 15 years of in-house and law firm experience, Leo is a highly skilled business lawyer whose practice has included mergers and acquisitions, securities law, corporate governance, intellectual property, employment law, and commercial matters. Prior to joining Gilt in December 2010, Leo was, from 2004 to 2010, the General Counsel of United Media and responsible for all legal and human resources matters—and, ultimately, the successful sale of the company. Previously, Leo held in-house legal roles at PRIMEDIA and Warner-Lambert and was a corporate associate at Dewey Ballantine.
Leo holds a BA from Tulane University and attended New York University School of Law and Albany Law School where she received her JD, with honors.
