Job Description:
The Retoucher works within a team that produces all images used in a sale, including women and men’s fashion, accessories, and jewelry. The successful candidate will work closely with their colleagues to produce, on average, five sales per week (approximately 150 images per day) in this deadline-driven and high-volume production environment. This position is based out of our warehouse location at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Maintain production of a high volume of images under very tight deadlines
• Partner with the shoot production and merchandising teams to ensure quality and fulfillment of each sale
• Utilize appropriate digital asset management techniques, from receiving images from the studio up to when the sale goes live
• Take creative direction from Art Directors and Managers and apply to images in order to achieve the best possible result for final web images
• Communicate with other teams in order to proactively address discrepancies and solve issues
Qualifications:
• 2+ years experience in retouching in a high volume production environment, fashion industry experience preferred
• Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Photoshop
• Possess in-depth knowledge of retouching skin tone, body shape, clothing and product refinement, as well as ability to control color/contrast for the web
• Ability to work very quickly without sacrificing overall image quality
• Strong organizational skills are a must
Requirement:
To be considered, all applicants must present a portfolio of work that includes before/after retouching samples. Finalist candidates will be given a very thorough Photoshop test, where they will be judged on skill and speed.
