Job Description:

The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for managing all accounting functions (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger) for Gilt Japan, as well as new business initiatives.  The role requires a very hands-on approach, as the Senior Accountant will be managing these units with limited support.  The successful candidate will also partner with the Controller on the production of any ad-hoc management reporting and financial analysis projects.  This entrepreneurial role is highly visible with demonstrated opportunity for growth and career development within the organization.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

•    Month-end close responsibilities including but not limited to:
o    Managing and adhering to a strict month-end close calendar with the objective of distributing financial statements internally and externally within 6 days
o    Foreign entity reporting and consolidation (including analysis of monthly information produced by foreign subs and booking the respective entries)
o    Preparation of all monthly journal entries
•    Liaison between Manager of Accounting of a Gilt foreign entity and Gilt corporate accounting
•    Preparation of monthly account reconciliations
•    Account analysis for balance sheet and income statement
•    Produce monthly management reports for Finance team
•    Vendor maintenance and management
•    Manage fixed assets in conjunction with department heads
•    Processing of all payables & disbursements
•    Preparation of monthly financial statements & supporting schedules

Requirements:

•    B.S. Accounting, CPA preferred
•    Minimum 5 years of Corporate Accounting experience
•    Demonstrated expertise in Excel, including pivot tables
•    Strong sense of customer service and integration with other departments
•    Self-motivated with moderate level of oversight
•    Willing to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with month-end close likely requiring additional hours
