Associate Merchandise Planner

Job Description:
We are seeking an Associate Merchandise Planner to support a growing, dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with a Merchandising division to help identify risks and business opportunities through sales analysis, gross profit, and inventory turnover.
Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):
- Forecast Sales, Gross Margin, and Inventory vs. Plan by department and by brand/sale
- Support Open-to-Buy by division and by department to align inventory with sales expectations
- Create and maintain pre-season, annual, quarterly, and monthly Sales, Margin and Inventory Plans by division and by department
- Work in conjunction with our Buyers to establish a concise and executable merchandise plan mix
- Make recommendations and execute markdowns with Merchandising team
- Own validity and interpretation of Business Reports on a Weekly/Monthly basis
- Perform Ad Hoc analysis based on historical performance and product attributes
- Support the development, implementation, and execution of new business processes and technology
- Assist with other projects as needed
Requirements:
- 2+ years in a Merchandise Planning role
- Self-starter, strategic thinker, ambitious in nature, personable
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel
- Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and recognize and react to changing work demands
- Proven ability to manage projects independently and to work as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent time management/project skills
- Confident in making effective autonomous (and group) decisions in a timely manner
- Goal-orientated with strong ability to stay focused
- Strong understanding of merchandising financials and ability to manage profitability
