Logistics Analyst (Domestic)

Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Supply Chain & Logistics, the Logistics Analyst will be instrumental in supporting the Operations team in validating and testing Transportation action plans by optimizing the balance of transportation cost and service and providing dedicated Transportation Operations support and analysis. The successful candidate will support Transportation initiatives that drive cost and service improvement. This position will be based out of our warehouse facility at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Develop Ad-Hoc queries and reports to facilitate problem resolution
• Maintain daily/monthly reporting
• Audit carrier invoices for accuracy and contract compliance
• Summarize and analyze key operational metrics on a daily/weekly basis
• Identify areas of opportunity to cut cost without jeopardizing service
• Create carrier performance report cards for business review meetings to discuss past carrier performance and future expectations
• Act as a liaison between Merchants, Customer Service, Warehouses, Vendors and Carriers
• Compile and analyze historical shipping information to monitor trends and help develop bid packages
• Update Shipping guides as needed
• Execute monthly KPI reporting package
• Resolve service failures and help implement process for continual improvement
• Complete the daily routing process to accomplish the highest transportation service level at the lowest possible cost through correct carrier selection.
• Monitor the execution of carrier pick-ups and deliveries throughout the domestic inbound network and insure that performance indicators are being met
• Create reports and reporting mechanisms to monitor and control all aspects of the supply chain, including vendors, merchants, and inbound transportation to report logistics cost, service standards, and transport plan throughout the supply chain
• Provide customer service support to the entire company to meet each department’s inbound and service requirements
Qualifications:
• 2 – 5 years of experience in similar operations, analytical position and/or transportation area.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (at least 4 years of logistics work experience for non-bachelor degree holders)
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
• Demonstrated understanding of basic principles of Logistics and Distribution
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to meet project deadlines.
