Job Description:

The Photo Tech Assistant is responsible for supporting all product and on body photo-shoots in a fast-paced, high-volume digital studio environment.  This role helps to create, traffic, coordinate, and catalog all photography assets for the website, and ensures smooth day-to-day photography operations. Working closely with a diverse group of art directors, stylists, and photographers, the Photo Tech Assistant will be adaptable, highly organized, possess excellent communication skills and able to thrive in a very team-oriented environment.  This full-time position is located in Brooklyn, NY in our warehouse/studio.

Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

•    Assist on all photo shoots, 5 days per week (36-48 looks, plus editorials)
•    Support photographer with tasks such as setting up lights, retouching, organization and maintenance of studio and styling supplies
•    Maintain photo equipment and cleanliness of studio
•    Manage day-to-day photography operations with studio, Retouchers, and internal teams
•    Maintain the workflow that insures completing the daily production requirements
•    Create and maintain shot-lists for shoot team and Retouchers
•    Follow procedures for naming, saving, archiving and transmitting photo files
•    Facilitate image edits and missing images
•    Ad hoc special projects as needed

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's degree
•    2+ years of experience in digital studio/photo shoot production, preferably in fashion or related field
•    Deep understanding of digital photography, including the use SLR camera and manipulation of lighting
•    Proven ability to light sets consistent with established standards
•    Strong knowledge Photoshop, Capture One, Aperture, and shooting to Lightroom and Bridge
•    Eye for visual composition and attention to detail
•    Ability to work well to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
•    Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
•    Ability to work well in teams
•    Strong communication skills
•    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment
