Job Description:

Gilt Groupe seeks a full-time junior staffer who can edit, write and proofread a high volume of copy. The successful candidate will be part of the copywriting team and will work on emails, Web copy, blog content and, every so often, good old-fashioned letters.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·      Draft, edit and proof copy for blogs, emails, site content and daily online sales. As needed, rewrite and enliven archived Web content to render it fresh and appealing

·      Identify grammar, spelling, punctuation and factual errors in all published materials

·      Monitor and review the company’s Facebook fan page, blog comments and Twitter profiles

·      Maintain the Gilt Groupe copy and email deck book and archives

·      Assist with special projects as needed

Requirements:

·      1-2 years of professional editing or proofreading experience

·      BA/BS, preferably in English, journalism or creative non-fiction writing

·      Experience in fashion, publishing or advertising required (internships are fine)

·      Familiarity with standard proofreading symbols and major style guides such as AP

·      Expert knowledge of written English (spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.)

·      Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

·      Please possess a demonstrated love of language, be quick with a quip and be worshipful of witty copy

This position is located in our warehouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
