Gilt Japan Appoints Joanna Dubin as CEO

TOKYO, May 2013, Gilt Japan, www.gilt.jp, the innovative online Japanese shopping destination today announced it has appointed Joanna M. Dubin as Representative Director and CEO, effective June 1, 2013. Ms. Dubin is currently the General Merchandising Manager at Gilt Japan, and has been in this role since November 2010.  Ms. Dubin is succeeding Peter Glusker, who has served as Representative Director and CEO since October 2010. Mr. Glusker will rejoin Gilt Groupe in the United States, and become Vice Chairman of Gilt Japan.

As General Merchandising Manager, Ms. Dubin was responsible for sourcing and communicating with Domestic and International women’s, men’s and children’s fashion brands as well as home wares for gilt.jp, many of which remain exclusive to Gilt Japan. During her tenure at Gilt Japan, over 2,000 brands were introduced and the overall sales were enhanced dramatically.

Ms. Dubin comes from a strong fashion and merchandising background, having worked in New York at Coach as Senior Director of Merchandising for Online, Ralph Lauren as Senior Director of Merchandising for Japan and South East Asia, as well as Bergdorf Goodman buying European and American Designer collections.

Ms. Dubin holds a Bachelor of Arts from New York University.  She has a strong interest in charity, raising funds for HIV and AIDS as well as Alzheimer’s.  Joanna fell in love with Japan in her early childhood, and leading Gilt Japan is the realization of a lifelong dream.
