It’s turning out to be not such a bad year for Billy Reid. The Alabama-based designer snagged GQ‘s Best New Designer in America Award back in February, and last night he beat out the likes of Robert Geller, Prabal Gurung, and Loden Dager to take home the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award. Along with a nice chunk of change (ahem, $300,000), the win puts Mr. Reid in some esteemed company, including Alexander Wang, Rogan Gregory, and Proenza Schouler. And let’s not forget his true highlight of 2010: Cohosting the Gilt MANual launch party back in September. Check out our Q&A with Billy from back then.
