Since turning, oh, let’s say 25, my stocking has morphed into the extent of my Christmas bounty. Which is fine. I’m not bounding down the stairs in footed pajamas at the crack of dawn anymore. In fact, I usually have to be awakened just before noon because I indulged in a bit too much holiday cheer the night before. When I do make my way to the vicinity of a fireplace and a seasonal pine, my stocking is filled with the requisite iTunes/Starbucks/Barnes & Noble gift cards and a bottle of wine. This season (hint, hint), I wouldn’t mind finding a pair of Richard James socks wrapped around my favorite Bordeaux. In, particular, this merino wool herringbone pair, handmade in England and perfect to match with one of the designer’s Savile Row suits. The adult equivalent of the footed pajama.
