Dispatches from Fall '11

Pesko's Pics: Yuketen

Our man in Firenze brings you the best of the Pitti Uomo trade show.

I’ve been following Yuketen shoes for nearly a decade now (not that I’m the only footwear aficionado to do so). Designers Yuki Matsuda and Ryan Keenan make honest and original footwear—in North America, no less—that stays one step ahead and never fails to delight. They cut no corners and take no shorts. For Fall ’11, they took the full brogue route with their wingtips, employing a distinctly American punch pattern that encircles the entire shoe. A perfect example of making an everyday shoe style special with effort and thought. It’s what Yuketen does, and why they deserve all the success they’ve achieved.
