Editor’s Pick: IWC Yellow Gold Dress Watch

For a lot of guys, a decent watch equals a sport watch: stainless bracelet, bezel for diving (the Rolex Submariner, say) or dual time zones (the GMT), a bit of macho heft. But a gent needs a dress watch, too. And if you ask me, it doesn’t get much better than the impeccably made and beautifully designed timepieces the International Watch Company was producing in Schaffhausen back in the fifties and sixties. The brand is better known these days as maker of the Pilot or the Portuguese, but when I get my first IWC it’ll be one of these. Maybe even this—if you don’t get to it first. P.S. Check out the back of the case. I don’t know what’s more mind-blowing: getting an IWC for 40 years of service, or working for the same outfit for 40 years…
