I love airports. I love getting there early, propelled by proper packing and efficient transportation. One thing that’s so very disheartening about the terminals of the world is the sorry state of dressing (something we’ve touched upon before). The point missed by these creatures of comfort is that dressing well is a functional must in economy or first classes. Take this notch lapel blazer from Vanishing Elephant. It’s a light wool blend in black that can be paired with a t-shirt as easily as with a white oxford cotton button front. Plus–the important part–a blazer has at least four useful and easily accessible pockets to house boarding cards, passports, several varieties of currency, and the extraneous detritus one accumulates from the taxi to the gate. This, along with a wealth of sharp pieces, is part of Gilt MAN’s First Class Traveler sale. The era of the free upgrade may be long gone, but dressing for upper class sure makes it easier to flash a smile and slide into the admiral’s lounge pre-take off.
