Gilt MAN Toasts Glenn O'Brien

Rule number one when throwing an event for Glenn O’Brien: Let him curate the guest list. That’s just what we did when we set about planning last night’s dinner at the Waverly Inn to mark the release of Glenn’s fantastic new book, How to Be a Man, and the resulting crowd represented every one of the author’s outlandishly diverse tastes and talents. A sampling: photographers Craig McDean, Mark Seliger, and Sante D’Orazio; art world luminaries Tom Sachs, Rob Pruitt, and Bill Powers; and designers Thom Browne and Simon Spurr, each looking impeccable in his own designs; not to the mention polymorphously creative Andy Spade, who gave a moving toast to the man of the hour; chef David Chang; and the always-dapper Aziz Ansari. And no party for Glenn is complete without a strong contingent from GQ, home to Mr. O’Brien’s widely read (and imitated) Style Guy column, including Jim Moore, Michael Hainey, Madeline Weeks, and Will Welch. Oh, and Patrick McMullan was there, too, and he took a few pictures:
