It’s only been a couple of years since I stopped using my phone to keep time and finally started wearing a wristwatch again. My current go-to option? A $30 Timex I picked up from a department store. So basically, I’m about as far as you can get from a horology buff.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate a fine timepiece when I see one. And this pre-owned Rolex Oyster—restored to like-new condition by the highly skilled technicians at Tourneau—caught my eye immediately. It’s simple enough for everyday wear, smart enough to dress it up a bit, and sturdy enough to withstand life’s little abuses. Top it off with a simple white face and Roman numeral hour markings, and you’ve got classic style on lock. But the real kicker, for me, is the date window. I know I should be able to keep track of what day of the month it is, but I’m terrible at it. With this watch, I’d stand a much better chance of remembering holidays, birthdays and the like. Hopefully.
