I love gingham in the summertime, but I can understand the occasional “tablecloth” or “dishtowel” associative concerns some folks have when you start getting into the larger versions of the pattern. And while I personally dig a large check, there are times when I want something just a bit more muted than the traditional blue or red variations on the theme. This shirt from Tim Hamilton is a great way for me to have my sartorial cake and eat it, too. It’s got the larger pattern, but the subtlety of the white and gray color scheme keeps things from feeling too picnic-ready. Call it gingham for the guy who’s more likely taking his lunch indoors.
