This week, Park & Bond pointed us in one of our favorite directions: towards the whisky. It seems that Bonhams is hosting a Scottish Sale in Edinburgh (which seems logical) starting tomorrow, of rare malts, some of which stretch back a half-century or more. Dalmore, Macallan, Bruichladdich, Glenfiddich, and others are all represented—with lots that mainly date from the 1960s to the 1980s—but there’s also a bottle of Berry Bros. & Rudd very old highland whisky, distilled before 1914 and bottled in 1943. Most of the lots don’t appear to have lost too much liquid to “angel’s share,” but when you’re talking Scotch that’s literally from the Kennedy era, it’s enough that it exists at all.
