A slimmed-down look at your week in culture.

Being fans of German high-design in all its forms (every desk at MANual has a Marcel Breuer Club chair) we were especially thrilled to hear about SF MoMA’s upcoming Dieter Rams exhibit from Park & Bond. Entitled Less and More: The Design Ethos of Dieter Rams, the retrospective looks back at the pioneering designer’s 40-year career at German appliance company, Braun. From coffee makers to radios, including one that directly inspired the iPod, Rams’s Teutonic philosophy of stripped-down design resonates now more than ever. You’ll never look at your electric shaver the same way again.
