Last night’s Tommy Hilfiger show was simply Tommy being Tommy…Nutter that is. The American designer paid homage to the famous British tailor of the 60s, best known for his irreverence and reinvention of the Savile Row suit. Nutter loved bold patterns and Hilfiger’s collection certainly was not lacking — glen plaids, houndstooths, and Prince of Wales were all incorporated into the designs (sometimes all together) in Tommy’s signature reds and blues. While the collection may have been 60s Brit-inspired (shout out to Simon Spurr), the fits were decidedly modern with that Ivy League twist Hilfiger loves. A fun side note: George Esquivel (the newly minted Creative Director of Tumi and shoemaker extraordinaire) supplied the footwear for all the models in last night’s show.
