From software engineers to stylists, virtually everyone here isn’t just great at what they do, they’re also incredibly plugged in to what’s going on outside the office. In our ongoing series designed to tap into that knowledge base, here’s what’s on the weekend docket of Associate Buyer – Women’s Designer Apparel, Caroline Knapp.
“New York is going to be beautiful this weekend (70s!) so I am looking forward to spending some time outside. Our neighborhood is hosting the annual Taste of TriBeCa on Saturday. It is the best way to sample all the amazing local restaurant’s specialities – including desserts! The local wine shops even open their doors for tastings, as well.
Saturday night my husband and I are meeting up with fellow Texans, designer duo Julie Haus-Alkire and Jason Alkire of Haus-Alkire. They just moved their boutique from SoHo to TriBeCa so I am looking forward to checking out their new space and then walking across the street to catch up over dinner and wine at Petrarca.
To us, Sundays mean church and a leisurely brunch (you can usually find us at Bubby’s or Sarabeth’s TriBeCa) with friends. After brunch, we plan on walking home along the Hudson River to soak up the beautiful day (and walk off some of the waffles!). After that, it is time to be productive. I need to start the week off right with a clean apartment, laundry put away, and groceries in the refrigerator. I also have a little blog on the side — Caroline in the City — so I like to get a head start on my post for the week ahead.”
