Anichini Bedding

Anichini may be based in rural Vermont, but the luxe linen company is far from provincial, as a gander at its Visconti throws reveal. The handiwork is impeccable, and the material? Baby-soft merino wool. And don’t miss the Aladino sheets, available in a blue that’s the color of the sky on a cloudless day, and the diamond-patterned Chloe coverlet and sham.

Backstory

A premier bedding and linen company based in rural Vermont? Such is the case with Anichini, whose old-world manufacturing techniques and fondness for voiles and silk twills belie its Yankee roots. CEO Susan Dollenmaier founded the company in 1986 with the aim to create luxury sheets that were locally made and that had little or no impact on the environment. With their crisp, classic lines and elegant colors, the collections are a favorite with hotels and high-end resorts; their patterns also are inspired by exotic regions like Persia and ancient Asia — and from Dollenmaier’s own stash of antique linens, many found in flea markets close to home.
