Born and raised in Canada, BedHead Pajamas founder Renee Claire moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s and tried to break into the women’s clothing market. She was just about ready to give up on fashion when she spotted a pair of blasé pajamas in a store and resolved to create a more stylish pair. In 1998, she launched BedHead and soon became one of the leading names in “couture loungewear” — crafting men’s, women’s and children’s pajamas distinguished by sophisticated silhouettes and luxe fabrics. BedHead’s pajamas for kids feature lots of playful patterns (pink cameos, lions, and Humpty Dumpty, to name a few) and come in cotton and Lycra blend, flannel, and other soft fabrics. The company’s adult-size collection includes everything from plus-size robes and PJs embroidered with zodiac signs to faux fur slippers and booties for cold winter nights. BedHead produces all of its bedtime threads in Los Angeles and donates part of its proceeds to charities.
