From beachfront weddings and patio cookouts to concerts in the park and rooftop cocktail parties, there are plenty of occasions on your social calendar calling for a new pair of shoes. Leather ballet flats in pretty pastels and embellished thong sandals dress up boyfriend jeans and airy caftans alike, while strappy woven espadrilles and embossed stiletto heels are just begging for a night on the dance floor with your sexiest sundress.
After honing his skills as the creative director of the legendary shoe labels Charles Jourdan and Stephane Kélian, French designer Jean-Michel Cazabat launched his own exuberant line of contemporary footwear in 1999. Drawing upon influences as diverse as rock 'n' roll and haute cuisine, Cazabat creates shoes and boots for men and women who possess impeccable style and a flair for assembling dramatic looks. Based in New York City since the 1980s, the man known by many as "Jean-Mi" reinvents wedges, stiletto pumps, desert boots, men’s wingtips, and other classic styles with experimental texture and color combinations and intricate detailing. From the Antonella wedge sandal’s beachy playfulness to the Emma pump’s pointy-toed sophistication, every Cazabat design is handmade from top-quality materials and reflects the designer’s genuine passion for his craft. In 2012 Cazabat collaborated with Libertine designer Johnson Hartig on a line of ultra-feminine women’s footwear that left fashion editors salivating for more.
